Project Aims: To create two
online promotional videos for the alternative rock band 'The Figures'. One 2-3 minutes in length which would be edited
down in length and content for their Facebook and MySpace page but also will
play as a ‘teaser’ for the extended version. The extended version will be 5-6
minutes in length which would go on the website and go into more depth about
the band. The extended video will act to educated and entertain their community
and fan base about their history and show more of behind-the-scenes of the band
while the 2-3 minute video will be shorter to help attract, educated and
entertain new fans of the band visiting their Facebook and MySpace.
Content Of Video: The video will be shot as a cinematic
montage sequence showing off previous live gigs, recording sessions but also
behind-the-scenes of the members of the bands. These sequences will be over
played with a backing track from the bands album and manly shot in black and
white. These scenes and sequences will be broken up with a Q&A/interview
style which will be shot in colour.
Structure: The video will begin with the black
and white sequences showing off the bands past experiences in the recording
sessions and previous live gigs. The video will then cut to the studio where
the video will turn into a Q&A/interview style were the viewer will begin
to learn the history of the band. The video cut back and forth between these
two styles and sequences with a backing track and voice overs of the band.
Extras: I
will be meeting with the band a couple of times before I begin my filming stage
in this production to confirm dates and run over any other details the band
would wish to add into the videos. I
will be attending 1-2 recording sessions,1-2 live gigs and 1 Q&A/interview
session to get enough footage to compose both of these videos.
