Evaluation

I must say over the course of this unit I have had my ups and down to say the least. After breaking my ankle, having this cast and being bed bound for 3 weeks I found it quite hard coming into the unit 3-4 week behind everyone else, but lucky with the help of Tom Annis and The Figures we were able to reschedule everything we already had planned. The 3 weeks where I was away did put a halt on my idea for my project. I wanted to be able to go to a few of their gigs and follow them around and visit them at their work place to get more footage than I already had. But sadly I was unable to do this due to the time frame I had.

But I do have to say despite all that I am quite pleased with how the final product turned out and how my blog is came together. Obviously if I had more time and that footage I mentioned above then I would be even more happier, but in my eyes you are your own worst critic so in my eyes there are many things which I have been nit picking and wish I could go back to film or re edit in some cases. When it came to the finished video I created I did stumble across a rendering problem when exporting the footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, as I mentioned on my blog and in the production log post I did have a look around for answerers but I could not find one. Given more time this is defiantly one thing I wish I could go back and sort out.

Over than that problem thought I was quite happy with the aesthetic qualities of the film, from what I have shown to the band they are very pleased with the final video which is the main thing in my opinion with this unit, making sure you please your client. Because in the real world all the company or the people you are promoting care about is the final video they want you to create for them and I feel like I achieved my aim on that part.

I learnt quite a lot than I thought I would on this project, I already knew the filming and editing side quite well so I knew I had knowledge there. But when it came to being a manager for a whole project and sorting out the cast and crew, location, travel arrangements and then also sorting out the filming and editing side it was quite a shock to the system for me. Even I really enjoyed the project and being able to work as a leader in a crew and working very closer with a band, it was a great experience and lesson when I take this knowledge into the Film and TV industry.
