Corporate and promotional videos are created to
promote something maybe an event that needs to be publicised. This could either
be an event coming up that a company wants to get noticed or a programme they
might be running which they want people to get on board with.
Compared to an advertising campaign a corporate and
promotional video will be aimed at an existing audience which they want to give
the information to. In my scenario of wanting to create a promotional video for
a local band the video would be aimed at their fan base who wish to learn and
find out more information about the history of the band and how they came to be
who they are now. But this could also aid the fact of people who are interesting
the style of band promotion and are looking for more bands to get into in the future.
Even though both are able to cross over as I just mentioned,
Promotional videos are produced for a specific audience, to establish a product
or event in the market and the consumer’s knowledge base where as an
advertising campaign is generally used to expand an existing audience for an
already established product.
More often or not small business and companies tend to use promotional
videos or any company who has a specific audience or in my case of a band
promotion an already blooming fan base.
