Evaluation

I must say over the course of this unit I have had my ups and down to say the least. After breaking my ankle, having this cast and being bed bound for 3 weeks I found it quite hard coming into the unit 3-4 week behind everyone else, but lucky with the help of Tom Annis and The Figures we were able to reschedule everything we already had planned. The 3 weeks where I was away did put a halt on my idea for my project. I wanted to be able to go to a few of their gigs and follow them around and visit them at their work place to get more footage than I already had. But sadly I was unable to do this due to the time frame I had.

Final Video - The Figures Promo 2013

Here is my final video which is customized for the bands YouTube and other social media sites.

Custom text added to description for more promotion of the band.

Production log - 01/05/213 Audio Problem

During today’s editing session where I was exporting the footage out of Adobe Premiere Pro I noticed that after the footage has been rendered out ready for upload onto YouTube the audio created a static noise at the beginning of each clip I have imported onto the timeline.

Even though while watching the footage back in the editing programme the problem is not there it only happens when I export the final video out into a compressed file. I took a look on some articles are forum chats to see if anyone else has had this problem and nothing came up. So I decided to go into the college editing suits and talk to the technician to see if he knew what was wrong. Sadly he didn’t know either...
I believe it might be due to rendering and compressing the file down for DVD export so when I give the final file to the band I will make sure to check the audio is better.

Evidence Of Understanding Promotional Programme Production

Corporate and promotional videos are created   to promote something maybe an event that needs to be publicised. This could either be an event coming up that a company wants to get noticed or a programme they might be running which they want people to get on board with.

Job Allocations

The people that I have got on board to help me produce the promotional video are:

Dane Avery – Cameraman/Director
 Finbarr Pine - Cameraman
Tom Annis – Floor manager/Driver

First of all I wanted a second camera for the interview segments of my video plus I knew we would not be at that location for a long time so I wanted to get as much footage as possible in the short time we had. Because I don’t want to be setting up for a long I wanted an extra couple of hands to speed up the process of setting up the shots.

he reason that I have chosen these people specifically, is because I have worked with each of them and know them very well. Because of this I know that they are all decent cameramen and are also very reliable, but not only that but due to my injury Fin is able to drive me to and from the location as we live in the same direction.

Distribution & Exhibition

The way in which my final video is distributed is very important in the final outcome of my video, as the band and I both want the video for online purposes, it is very important I model the video for this rather than for TV purposes.
